Kalakantha-Sandamani-Mirabhai initiation ceremony - Who is who?

Hare Krishna. I’m Mirabai dd. I wished to take diksa from Sandamini Prabhu but the VDG issue was on hold with GBC though they had passed the resolution to permit it. Upon writing to local GBC as well as GBC secretary to try and find out if VDG would ever truly be permitted, we saw that the future was very uncertain and decided waiting for VDG to be an option could mean waiting forever. Therefore we creatively came up with a workaround which was to have Kalakantha Prabhu present and acting as the GBC approved diksa guru. Sandamini prabhu gave me my beads and name and is my primary siksa guru. She also recently gave me the Gayatri mantra again with dear Kalakantha present at the fire yajna. I consider myself blessed to have both these learned and dear devotees as guides in my life. While all this has been going on, Sandamini prabhu has been fulfilling all the requirements laid out by the GBC to become an institionally-qualified initiating guru now that it appears that the GBC is going to move forward with permitting VDG initiations at least here in the US as evidenced by the amazing event of Narayani Mataji giving diksa (without any workarounds) to her disciple. I ask for your blessings and prayers for Sandamini prabhu as she continues to give shelter to myself and others. It says in the CC that typically the one who gives the most siksa becomes the initiating guru— it is such an organic matter of the heart, in my opinion, as to who we develop a guru/disciple relationship with which really makes the hesitancy on the whole VDG issue perplexing maybe especially for western culture. I’d like to also add that, in my experience, diksa guru culture is highly overrated— initiation is a formality and an important one but it is in receiving siksa that day-to-day development occurs. maybe especially for western culture.
